Practice & Approach

Cuboliquido is an independent visual artist working in public space through street art, large-scale painted interventions, and site-specific projects. His practice focuses on visual illusion and anamorphic perspective as tools to activate real spaces and engage diverse audiences.

Working in Public Space

Cuboliquido works primarily in public and semi-public contexts, where the relationship between artwork, environment, and audience is immediate and unavoidable. Streets, squares, corridors, façades, and transitional architectural spaces become active elements of the work rather than neutral surfaces.

The practice is grounded in the idea that public space is not only a physical setting, but a shared social territory. Each intervention considers movement, perspective, accessibility, and the everyday presence of people, transforming ordinary environments into moments of visual and collective engagement.

Site-Specific Process

Every project is conceived as site-specific, beginning with careful observation of the space and its conditions. Physical constraints, architectural geometry, flow of movement, and viewing angles are treated as generative elements rather than limitations.

Anamorphic perspective and visual illusion are used as tools to activate space and guide perception from a precise point of view. Rather than emphasizing technical virtuosity, the focus remains on how illusion can alter spatial awareness and invite the viewer to actively participate in the experience.

Play, Perception, and Participation

Play is a recurring element within Cuboliquido’s approach, functioning as a universal language capable of connecting different audiences. Visual surprise, distortion, and perceptual shifts encourage curiosity and engagement without requiring prior knowledge or specialized references.

Through these strategies, the work opens a dialogue with cultural memory, social values, and shared imagination. The experience is designed to be accessible, layered, and inclusive, allowing different levels of interpretation depending on age, background, and context.

Practice as Collaboration

Cuboliquido approaches each project as a form of collaboration with the space, the context, and the people who inhabit it. The process unfolds on site, where the act of painting becomes visible and integral to the work itself.

This approach emphasizes presence, adaptability, and responsiveness, allowing the project to evolve in dialogue with its surroundings. The final work is not conceived as an isolated object, but as a temporary or permanent activation of space that exists through shared experience.
